Adam McKay: two series and a film in preparation »Le Blog d'Ecran Noir
After a series of comedies and two films noticed by the critics and by the Oscars (The Big Short: The Break of the Century and Vice), Adam McKay created his new production company, Hyperobject Industries, in connection with Paramount pictures.
The first film in this collaboration should be Don't Look Up, a dark humor satire that takes place around space, with two astronomers who discover a meteorite ready to destroy the earth within six months, and who do the media turn to alert mankind to its next disaster.
He also signed a television deal with HBO (Warner Media), a broadcaster for which he plans a mini-series adapted from the book by journalist Julie K. Brown on the financier and sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein, who committed suicide in mysterious circumstances in prison this summer. He would also like to serially adapt the book of another journalist, David Wallace Wells, The Uninhabitable Earth, an essay on global warming in the manner of Black Mirror.
