The 9th edition of the Bucharest festival will open on October 19 with the same film that also opened the Cannes festival: "Everybody Knows", the latest feature film by the director, with Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem in the main roles.

Asghar Farhadi was born in Iran, in 1972, and in 1998, after completing theater studies and then directing in Tehran, he had already directed six short films and two series, had written screenplays and created radio plays and TV shows. In 2003, she debuted with Dancing in the Dust, the first in a series of complex, suspenseful films that capture the subtle clashes between social classes and mentalities, especially in Iranian society.
Farhadi was included by Time magazine on the list of the world's 100 most influential people at 40, in 2012, after A Separation had crossed the world collecting over 70 awards, including the Golden Bear in Berlin.
