The first Cannes Film Festival opens today ... in Orléans. We will also discover, The Great Solution by Czech Hugo Haas or a Soviet film with an ironically premonitory title, If tomorrow is the war by Efim Dzigan. The USSR had not yet made an alliance with Hitler's Germany.
