Cannes: Bill Murray, Quentin Tarantino, Batman, Rocketman
Did he nod or did he just roll his eyes? The first laugh at the festival was caused by Bill Murray (here at the press conference for his film "The Dead Don't Die" with Selena Gomez) when the camera caught him at a supposedly unobserved moment during the opening ceremony. The opening monologue by master of ceremonies Edouard Baer was also unnerving long - and only in French. The fact that Cannes affords this exclusivity despite its international aspirations is always surprising. Maybe that's why Murray was celebrated like this: His little fatigue protest was understandable globally.
