Cannes Lions 2020: That changes at the world's most important creative festival
A new category, revised PR Lions and a comprehensive content program: these are the most important changes at the Cannes Lions 2020, which take place from June 22nd to 26th. As the festival management announced, it had collected feedback from more than 1,500 customers and conducted more than a hundred interviews with industry-leading CEOs, CMOs, CCOs, marketing experts and strategists, and on the basis of this defined eight core topics for the 2020 agenda.
Simon Cook, Managing Director of the festival since the spring of this year, explains that it wants to respond to the needs of the industry. Potential speakers are already invited to apply to share their perspective on one of the eight key topics on the Cannes stage. These are the following content areas:
In the coming year there will be another competition in the form of an additional main category: the Creative Business Transformation Lions. With this, the festival wants to react to the changes in marketing associated with digital disruption. "As companies invest in new ways of working to make their business future-proof, this Lion celebrates the creativity that drives companies and the creative thinking that changes the way companies organize, how people work internally, and how customers work get involved, "says an official press release.
