Cannes Lions: Apple Receives Advertiser of the Year Award

Apple was named the Brand of Advertiser of the Year by the Cannes Lions International Creativity Festival, succeeding Google, honored with Creative Marketer of the Year last year. The distinction was created in 1992 to highlight brands whose creativity has an impact on the business and the advertising industry itself, and has since then awarded brands such as Coca-Cola, Burger King, Heineken, McDonald's, Samsung, Unilever, Mars or Ikea.

The award will be received on stage by Tor Myhren, VP of marketing and communication for the US brand, at the festival's last day ceremony on June 21st. In the words of the official, who considers the distinction "a tremendous honor", the most important thing is that "the creative world is watching, and there is a lot of creative talent out there that may one day come to work for Apple." “It's important to Apple in terms of potential future talent,” says Tor Myhren.

Among the reasons for awarding this year's Apple award are the 22 lions the Apple has won in the 2018 edition with 10 separate campaigns. Noteworthy were the Today at Apple retail program, created in partnership with Work & amp; Co, who won the Grand Prix at Brand Experience and the Titanium Lion, or the Welcome Home campaign created by TBWA / Media Arts Lab and conducted by Spike Jonze, who won the Grand Prix in the Entertainment Lion for Music section. This year's Cannes Lions festival will be held from 17 to 21 June.
