Famous Polish director in the jury of the Cannes Film Festival
Director Paweł Pawlikowski was on the jury of this year's Cannes Film Festival - it was announced on Monday on the event's Twitter profile. The 72nd Cannes International Film Festival will be held on May 14-25.
This year's Cannes Film Festival will be inaugurated by the world premiere of Jim Jarmusch's "The Dead Don't Die", which will take part in the main competition.
The chairman of the jury this year will be Mexican director and screenwriter Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. As stated on the festival's twitter profile, in addition to the Polish director, the jury also included actresses Elle Fanning and Maimouna N'Diaye; directors and screenwriters Kelly Reichardt and Alice Rohrwacher; creator of comics Enki Bilal and directors and screenwriters Robin Campillo and Jorgos Lantimos.
The most famous paintings by Paweł Pawlikowski are "Ida" awarded with an Oscar for the best foreign-language film and "Cold War", for which he received the Golden Palm in Cannes last year.
