Last curtain in Cannes
The last bend in Cannes is now in place, and the awards ceremony will be held at the closing ceremony this evening. Following the festival on behalf of our newspaper Mehmet Basutçu'nun written for more than a week, as can be understood from the critics of Pedro Almodovar, Bong Joon Ho and Celine Sciamma stands close to the Golden Palm. The number of Ken Loach and the Dardenne brothers, who both won the Golden Palm twice, is not the least. Among the discoveries of the year, Mis Les Miserables ile and Ladj Ly stand out. It is not wrong to say that among the films of recent days, actors have come to the fore, some daring trials have been caught in the name of cinema, but there is not a very important candidate for Golden Palm. Of course I do not have the opportunity to watch yet and the producers of Zeynep Atakan'ın (Zeynofilm) Elia Suleiman signed by "It Must Be Heaven" I say this by keeping separate.
3.5 Mektoub, My Love: Intermezzo layan, which forced the audience to endure the night before with a 3.5-hour period and loud music dominated by the techno-rhythms of the 90s, was one of the most divisive critics in Cannes. While a considerable number of viewers left the room without waiting for the film to end (some even half), the rest was wandering in surprise, laughing at the nerves, throughout the endless 3-hour disco scene. Tunisian director Abdellatif Kechiche, who answered the questions at the press conference, said, “There is no such thing that everyone will love the same things as me, it would be terrible. I'm not bothered to leave early, erek he said. On the other hand, Kechiche, who included two young actors in the series as well as the young cast in the first film, acted formally more experimentally this time and aimed, in his own words, a new experience for the audience by breaking the rules of the narrative. Innovation is controversial, of course, but Kechiche, who, as he often pronounces, does not deny that the human body (or even mabad) is a fascinating thing and finds a metaphysical beauty in it, continues to wander the boundaries of eroticism (even porn in a scene).
Not surprisingly, Marco Bellochio's Trad Il Traditore ”(“ Traitor ”), based on the true story of the outlaw Tomasso Buscetta, who brought the end of the Sicilian mafia, brings a player award to Pierfrancesco Favino in particular. Virginie Efira, who also starred in the French female filmmaker Justine Triet's film yl Sibyl ve and has been memorized for her unexpected performance, is also one of the leading actresses. Meanwhile, çok Sibyl olan, one of the films that have made its mark in recent days with its multi-layered script and its story shaped like a challenging puzzle, seems to be mentioned in important awards.
Another film representing France at the festival is polis Roubaix, Une Lumiere ”(Roubaix, A Light), which is directed by Arnaud Desplechin, which is about a police investigation in Roubaix, the poorest region of France. and in my opinion, where class issues take place, but with the melodrama blinking in places, it doesn't give much. I don't think Lea Seydoux and Sara Forestier will have a strong performance as a duo, and Roschdy Zem is an outstanding counter-acting actor. Of course, it is not possible to foresee the decisions of the jury chaired by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu this evening. After all, this is Cannes and the cinema here is always a surprise, often good, sometimes bad.
