'Parasite', Korean film winning the Palme d'Or in Cannes, is one of the premieres of the week
Winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and the audience award at the 43rd International Film Festival, Parasita & nbsp; can already be considered one of the most acclaimed films of this year - both for the collection of statuettes and for the critical success.
A social satire with a suspense atmosphere, the feature film by Bong Joon-ho contrasts with his previous productions, such as 'The Host' (2006) and 'Okja' (2017), usually composed of metaphors and elements of science fiction.
The tone of the script, in this case, varies dramatically between the comic and the tragic. And despite the title, the plot does not give space to any kind of creature - only humans full of flaws and divided by their social classes.
On the one hand, members of the Family Park, wealthy and owner of a modernist mansion. On the other, the Kim family, who live unemployed in an insect-infested basement.
When the eldest son of the Kim family gets a job as a tutor for the Park's daughter, his first contact with the luxurious and comfortable reality gives him an unusual idea to finally make money.
Soon, the four members of the Kim family 'infiltrate' as employees, providing luxury services. Without the Parks knowing about their kinship, the intruder family establishes more and more control over space and decisions in the mansion, moving further and further away from their disadvantaged social position.
