The repair of a broken pipeline at Cannes-La Bocca is progressing well. The 1.20 m diameter tube was extracted on Thursday and a new section should be in service on Friday morning.
A dozen Véolia Eau men have taken turns and worked hard since Tuesday to repair a waste water transfer pipe. This sewage "highway" broke up due to bad weather and the foul-smelling domestic water poured into the sea. On Thursday, the pipeline could be cleared from the concrete sarcophagus in which it was sealed. The pipeline was cut and a crane was used to take it out. & Nbsp;
Cofferdams have been installed to stop the leakage of wastewater into the sea. Some of this water is also diverted upstream. The workers hope that the new section will be put into service next night or even Friday morning, once the pressure tests have been carried out. & Nbsp;
