This year, the first trailer for Beanpole, which won Best Director and FIPRESCI awards, was released at the Certain Glance section at the Cannes Film Festival.

Kantemir Balagov, who entered the world of cinema with the film Tesnota at the age of 26 and made him say that he had a job, starred Konstantin Balakirev, Andrey Bykov and Olga Dragunova. The script is directed by director Kantemir Balagov and Aleksandr Terekhov.

The film depicts the efforts of Iya and Masha, two young women from World War I, to re-create their lives and takes us to Leningrad in 1945. II. An accident of Iya and Masha, who fought side-by-side as anti-aircraft artillery during World War II, sealed the fate as they brought the two closer together. One of the highlights of the year with a painful story and successful visual narrative, Beanpole is also Russia's nominee for Best Foreign Language Film.
