Vienna Halloween Parade 2019: Route, Road Closure, More
VIENNA, VA - Vienna celebrates its season with the 73rd annual Halloween parade off Maple Avenue on Wednesday, October 23 at 7 p.m. This year's theme for the parade is "Famous Children's Books and Fairy Tales".
Carey Sienicki, who left this year after eight years as a candidate for the Vienna City Council, is filling the grand march. A resident of Vienna since 2000, he has also served on the Windover Heights Review Board, on the Advisory Committee of the Vienna Art Society and as coordinator of Inci Walk on the Hill in Historic Vienna. Sienicki was formerly the interim mayor and planning commissioner.
The parade begins at Maple Avenue on Branch Road SE and turns left onto Center Street S for one quarter. Spectators can watch Maple Avenue between Branch Road SE and Center Street S. Floats and routers line up at Branch Road SE and Berry Street SE.
Vaher Avenue will close with barricades between East Street and Lawyers Road at about 6:30 p.m. by 9.30 am The surrounding blocks will also be closed with barricades at around 4:45. by 9:30 a.m., Church Street, East Street, and other roads will serve as bypass routes. The deadline for registering in the swimming pool was September 20, 20. Adults accompany children to the parade, but do not have to register. Attendees should meet at 6:30 p.m. park United Bank, 374 Maple Avenue East.
The judges decide on prizes for young bands, soaring music, soaring without music, young performers, adult performers and antique vehicles. The city council will present the awards on November 4 at 8 p.m.
